Does a movie / tv show have to be violent for you to enjoy it?

Of course not. Not against violence in media per se, but I certainly enjoy a lot of non-violent media. Even in horror, a lot of my favourites are more creepy or unsettling than brutally violent.
I avoid torture porn horror like the plague. Even the minimal bits I hear or see in places like WhatCulture's list videos upset me.
I don't need violence to like what I'm watching. It's actually more likely to turn me off from watching something.
