Dot portrait for the missing man

The only thing more unbelievable than this drawing is the story behind it.

In 2004, an unconscious man was found bloody and naked in a skip in Georgia, USA.



He had no belongings, ID or memory of who he was. After months of ongoing evaluation from doctors and psychologists it was determined he was suffering from dissociative amnesia.



He is the only citizen in the United States officially listed as missing despite his whereabouts being known.



He adopted the pseudonym Benjaman Kyle after the fast food restaurant he was found outside.



Since then, Mr Kyle has embarked on a search for his true identity sparking massive amounts of media coverage and even a short film, entitled Finding Benjaman.



He is unable to receive a new social security number because of his situation, and is therefore unable to get a job - or even register at a homeless shelter.



Artist Miguel Endara was one of many citizens who, after hearing Mr Kyle's story, wanted to help.



Mr Endara, known for his incredibly realistic dot drawings, used his talent to create a life-like portrait of Kyle made up of 2.1 million ink dots.



It took 138 hours with each dot applied one by one at an average of 4.25 dots per second.



Endara hopes it will spread awareness of Mr Kyle's plight and to help raise money through the sale of his prints.

I find it weird that he's never been fingerprinted or his friends and family never reported him missing. Any way, it must be awful not knowing who you really are. Hope the dot portrait helps.

I've been fingerprinted for my job. Depends on if this was a requirement for him or not. Depends if he was ever in the court system as he would have been fingerprinted. Also, here in the US they fingerprint children if the parents allow it. This is in case the child goes missing.
