‘Double jeopardy’ means being tried twice for the same offence. The ‘double jeopardy’ rule means that an individual cannot be tried again for the same offence if acquitted. Should the rule be scrapped?

TBH I don't see a reason why it should be scrapped, but then again I've never heard of case where it prevented someone from being tried.

I live in a small country with not a lot of crime.

I'm definitely a fan of the rule. It keeps prosecutors from tying up a person's life by constantly putting them through court battles for the same thing. It also means they have to be careful about taking someone to court when they don't have enough evidence. Now, they can always find a new charge, I suppose, but that's a different matter.
