Do you think the drinking age in your country should be higher or lower?

Remain the same. 18 is just a fine age. Younger if under consent of parents. Like I usually have a glass of wine at Easter, and don't think I should be looked at as a criminal. Nor trying a drink or two. 18 for drinking, smoking, gambling..

I think drinking itself should be fine for 16-17, just have a blood limit to how much is too much, like DUI. .08.

To be honest.. Now that Im 25, I could care less what the age is. Sure when you are at the age where it matters, you would think that it should be the lowest possible. But once you get a little older you may have a different perspective. I know I would rather have the least amount of drunken teenagers running around as possible. Chances are, if its illegal for them, then less people will be doing it, and will stay indoors where they wont get caught being drunk elsewhere. Its not that hard to get someone to go buy it for you. As long as you do it in your own home, nobody will ever know.

Some countries are like this, and this is what I meant too. Within your own home, it should be fine. And these days, you're right. It is easy to get liquor.

I agree!

It's not always the case. I see sh!tloads of underage teenagers drinking in public liquor ban areas.

Yeah but if the police did their jobs, they wouldnt be there.

The police have more important things to be doing that telling teenagers to move on.

It's 16 here...

Seem to be quite a few drunk kids during the weekends.

Meh, I don't care

Legal drinking age doesn't seem to matter as underage kids can get alcohol from any source willing to provide it to them. As a Paramedic I can't tell you how many scenes I have responded to where an underage kid has died due to alcohol consumption. These are just kids who make the wrong decission and think they are immortal. I have to pick up the remains of their lack of judgement and believe me, it's not a pleasant thing to have to tell a parent that their child is gone forever.

Isn't that their job to enforce the law? :/

18 years old sounds fine but I do agree with those who said that teens can get hold of alcohol easily these days. Just like what Jazzy said, it's the wrong and a stupid decision those kids make in drinking too much.

I don't understand why people drink to get drunk anyways. Is it a really nice feeling? :/ I know some of my friends drink just to get that buzz and then they stop. But why do people drink to get drunk?

I think it should be higher, there's all those stupid 21 year olds getting killed in accidents and even killing innocent people. Becuase they were drinking and driving.

I think it is 18 here, I think it should be raised to 21 or even 25. People don't understand the dangers of alcohol.

It's 18 here, but most stores run an under-25 policy. Amusingly underage drinking isn't a huge problem in my town, but eh.

I don't think that alcohol should be legal for anybody at any age. If alcohol is legal, then they may as well legalize all those other drugs that are currently illegal, too.

I agree. Even though I'm not old enough to get alcohol... yet, I've seen plenty of people my age getting smashed, and it's not a pretty sight. The police here confiscate alcohol but at the local shop you can get 24 cans of beer for about £10 or less. So it doesn't really work.

It is twenty one in most areas, and twenty five just seems outrageous in my opinion.

It's 21 in the US which really don't make sense since the government deemed it fine for a 18 year old to smoke a cigarette and go off to war but god forbid if any of those 18-20 year olds should consider having a drink of alcohol. XD

I say all the ages for those three things should be the same as I don't see how drinking and smoking is any safer then going off to war.
