If you're going into an interview or a job for the first time no matter if it's permanently, temp etc how would you ease your nervousness.

I start a job tomorrow until Sunday for customer service work and I've never done that type of job before and I'm as nervous as hell as if they find out I am going to be hopeless they might ask me to go home.

Practice interview questions and answers. Go in there knowing information about the company, as well as having some questions to ask so that it looks like you did your homework. Don't be afraid to bring notes either! Also, just take a moment to breathe with the diaphragm, in and out, slowly and steadily. A couple of cleansing breaths can help relax you as well.

I guess just realize that the interviewer is a person, too, and that you can only do your best. It's a process, yes, and sometimes it sucks, but the nerves--albeit natural--aren't going to hurt you too much.

What kind of customer service job are you interviewing for if you don't mind me asking? I went in for my first ever group interview for a retail position (I've never worked retail before this), which was less intimidating because there were a few other people there.

It's not an interview though. It's temp work so I just go in there and ask for the guy and give him my bank account details and sign a form or whatever.

That makes it even worse as I won't feel comfortable asking questions etc as everyone else will be there.

Oh! Well, then just the deep breaths, I think, should do you well. If there's no interview and you're not really trying to sell yourself to an interviewer, then that should be a breeze.

its been awhile since last job interview, but what i did before, just take deep breaths.. stare straight ahead and focus on something that calms you down..or even a simple magazine..victorias secret or playboy.. sounds silly but it kind of worked for me.

Hahah, ohhh, just don't come off as creepy, and try to blink every now and then. xD

I think it's a shop that is coming here for four day sale then disappearing. But if they stay I do hope they offer me a permanent job if I do well. Good for the CV I think though.

Any work is good for your CV, paid or not. It shows responsibility, ability to perform tasks to standard, and various other aspects of holding down a job despite how long it lasts. Hopefully, they'll offer you something longer after that, though!

Plus extra money for Christmas as haven't really saved for that yet.
