is this just the beginning of this in the USA?

I would think so....I mean this guy, Duncan, brought it here to America....He passed away late Tuesday Night, and word has it, that a Deputy Sheriff, who responded to the Ambulance call for him, is now hospitalized with it.....Sad thing of it is, is that most of America is not prepared for it..

Actually, we are much more prepared for it than other countries with less prominent health care systems in place. The way that it is spread is through direct contact with an infected person. IT IS NOT CONTRACTED THROUGH THE AIR. And you'd probably have a real hard time contracting it off a toilet seat, too. The Ebola virus does not survive very long outside of its host. Scientists had a hard time, at one point, studying it because--like I said, outside of its host--the virus would die off just sitting on a petri dish untouched

The reason it's spread in those west African countries is because healthcare there is not as technologically advanced or readily available. It is the families taking care of their infected loved ones who are catching the disease because they handled blood and other bodily fluids that in turn sicken them. They don't have access to or wear the proper gear when treating the symptoms or when cleaning up messes. It's not like here where, when we're sick, we go to the hospital, get checked in, and quickly become isolated if it appears to be contagious.

So let me give you an idea of just how difficult it is to spread this disease. In 2010, there was a flu epidemic here in the US. Within 3 months, 51 million people were checking into hospitals, clinics, doctor's offices with the flu or flu-like symptoms. Compare that with about 7k people who've contracted Ebola in a span of 8 months, 3k-ish of which have died. AND if you compare how many countries in Africa have seen cases, Sierra Leone, Lberia, and Guinea, in contrast of the entire 47 countries on the continent of Africa, that is a VERY small portion of the world.

I think the fear Americans have about this Ebola virus is warranted because the "leadership" here is completely clueless and has shown repeatedly that it has no idea what to do in crisis situations. The Obamanation is a brainless moron with zero backbone and Americans have no faith in his ability to combat a housefly, much less a potentially lethal disease running rampant. It's no wonder we're nervous about this thing! We have NO reliable leadership!

The thing is, he wasn't showing symptoms of Ebola when he flew back to the US. So how was the country able to pinpoint it right then and there? It was the hospital's "fault" in this case, and not the government's, who misdiagnosed the man and sent him off. Until he came back two days later, only then were they able to come up with a sure diagnosis. How Obama has any connection to what those people did in that hospital is beyond me, but if you're looking for someone to blame, look to the state of Texas who appears to do things their own way, doesn't have shit for brains, and let's a man with Ebola walk around freely. *shrug*
