Have you ever shot anybody in real life? I had to do it when I was enlisted in the army.

Our army works by conscription, which means all those males above 18 are subject to be enlisted for a 1-year service as privates or 3-years service as reserve officers. You don't have any control over if you are gonna be a private or a reserve officer, it is totally up to the command.

I was lucky enough that I was enlisted only for a 1-year service. I was enlisted in the special troops called "Thunderbolt" We were deployed directly after basic training to Sinai aka land of death. There are many armed groups actually living and nesting there. Government calls them terrorists but I never believed it, I'd rather call them oppressed people who were deprived of their basic life needs and were marginalized and humiliated to an extent that one can't really bear.

In one of night operations against these groups, I was deployed with 9 more soldiers to an abandoned district in North Sinai known for us as the T place. We had to infiltrate the place and arrest one of these armed groups leaders. The resistance was so heavy and I was only lightly armed with an AK-12 stock. I had to protect the backlines to protect my mates and prevent any stab from the back. The leader sense of place was so strong that actually two guys tried to ambush us from the back, I was there, in a well hidden spot, they passed by fast, I shot both, one in the leg and the other in his chest. Heard the fireshots, 3 of my mates rushed back to me to see what happened, they found both guys moaning on the ground and almost crying. I was so happy that I didn't kill them, first aid was provided to them and they were arrested.

I'm glad that I didn't kill anyone during the military enlistment. Sometimes you never want to do something that you always hated, but shooting them was a must, or they would have killed my mates and definitely killed me.

PS: I know it may sound harsh but trust me, I had no other choices.

I'm sorry you had to be put into that situation, Madi. It makes sense that you would be conflicted between doing what your government requires of you and actually hurting or killing a human being. I have not had to shoot anyone. I have shot guns before, plenty of times, but never at another living thing.

My mind wanders to bad places sometimes. XD :halo2:

No I've never shot anyone with a gun.

Sorry you were put in that situation Madi. :(

to be honest, ive got to question your training...how come you were on your own, isolated from the rest of your stick?.....where was your buddy?.......from close range you only manage to wound?....in a combat situation you dont want to kill?.....in a kill or be killed situation they are going down and going to stay down.
perhaps my training was a little different to the egyptian armys as we dont have conscription

You know how many bullets I fired during my whole training? Only 6! And 4 during the combat. Ammo is just so precious for the scumbag commanders we have, but your life isn't. You die today? No problem, we conscript 1000 more tomorrow.

Considering the situation, it was not really CQC as you are imaging.

That's really sad and really sick. It gives you a good idea of just what you're worth to these people "leading" you. It's part of the reason why I would never, ever join the military, even if I were offered money. xD
