Ever been asked if you wanted extended warranty? What was your response?

A couple Christmases ago I bought an electric scouter, and when we went to checkout, the cashier asked us if we wanted extended warranty, and I asked how much it was, and when we heard the price we thought it was high then, so we declined her offer. Well, after a year, my electric scooter has had two flat tires, which I had to buy new ones, otherwise would have been covered by the extended warranty, and now if I want to ride it I'll have to buy another battery. I should of accepted the warranty, because with all the costs so far, I would of been covered by it and better off.

Second case, I was offered extended warranty for my laptop, my responses was YES! Learned from the past. Have had the laptop for a year now, no problems, so I have another year of extended warranty left on my laptop. If anything happens, screen breaks, I drop it, key falls off, get a virus, or whatever the case may be, I'm covered for the year 2010.

Had it on my Xbox 360. Really glad because I had issues with my first one and got it replaced.. more than once. Think the warrenty has ran out now though.

Most extended warranties don't cover drops or viruses. Be sure to read exactly what the fine print says.

I just got a new laptop about a week ago and I refused the extended warranty. It comes with a one year standard warranty and if no parts break, they're not likely to break in the next year. And a little more care isn't hard to do, so paying $300 to be careless isn't really worth it.

Never bought an extended warranty. Its a waste of money.

I haven't. I try to take care of things.

Either that or I try not to buy things that may break easily.

I have been asked if I wanted extended warranty on electronics and things, but I always said no. I'm usually pretty good about taking care of my stuff anyway.
