Do you always make eye contact with whomever you are speaking to?

Why is making eye contact important?

Can you think of some situations where eye contact should not be made?

Do you always make eye contact with whomever you are speaking to? Yes, if I'm directly facing the person.

Why is making eye contact important? It relays to whomever your speaking to that you're interested in what he or she has to say. It also shows you respect the person and what they are saying is important to them. Making eye contact is essential, in my opinion, during an interview.

Can you think of some situations where eye contact should not be made? None come to mind if that person is speaking to face to face.
