A new Facebook app will turn Facebook users' lives into a TV show by inserting their photos and updates into a special action series created for the web.

Aim High, produced by Warner Bros and the Hollywood director McG, is aimed at teens and potentially marks a major step in Facebook's evolution towards major player status in the entertainment business.

The show surrounds the adventures of Nick Green, a high-school-student-turned-secret-agent, played by Jackson Rathbone, a young actor best known for his role in the Twilight vampire films.

Facebook users who install the Aim High app will be offered the chance to watch episodes in a personalised mode. It will gather photos, wall postings, and music favourites from their wall and use them in the show.

The show becomes personal,'' said McG, who directed Charlie's Angels and Terminator Salvation.

Music that the characters are listening to comes from your playlist, pictures on the walls, TV screens and picture frames inside the show are from your profile.''

The show's producers hope this unique personalised mode will draw a young audience that spends a lot of time on Facebook.

You're tapping into why Facebook is so popular, which is the experience of creating your own personal profile, said Thomas Gewecke of Warner Bros Digital Distribution.

The Hollywood Studio said it plans more series that will exploit Facebook data in future.

Facebook is an increasingly powerful force in entertainment distribution. This year it has begun film rental services, and its recent deal with Spotify is expected to make it the main channel for streaming music online.
