Facebook page as a forum

Never heard of using Facebook for that. What would be the advantage?

Well since a lot of people seem to use it more then they do forums. I would think you'd have more access to a base of people that your page is geared towards.

Interesting concept for those people who have a Facebook account. I don't and never will. I like the traditional forum myself.

I getcha.

If you create a page on Facebook you could use the discussions on it as a forum but would advise against it.

I'd like to know too why you would advise against it.

Most people won't stay interested on a FB discussion page for long. There is too much other stuff to keep them occupied.

You sure? Cause I'm looking at the ICC page and I can still post stuff there.

Is it a fan page, or a group? My fan pages def' had the discussions removed at the beginning of the month.

As far as I know, its just a page. But why remove the discussions part? Seems dumb.

I agree. I really would like to know the same thing. I am the admin for a fan page of over 4,000 people; it's a Christian youth conference, and the discussions tab was the best way for communication.

I read that article Jazzy gave us. Apparently cause 55 something million users went from that to 22 million who were using the discussions portion. And its cause of that, that they feel its best to remove it. Retarded thinking if you ask me.

The Discussion app, also known as Discussion Boards, allows Pages to host a basic forum.

I guess Facebook didn't want to give users the power to host a basic forum.
