A young child has been reunited with her favourite teddy bear which she left on a train after a social media campaign.

Metro reports that rail passenger Lauren Bishop Vranch found a 'well-loved' bear on an East Coast train at King's Cross on Friday, and began a Twitter campaign to reunite it with its family.

Her appeal was re-tweeted thousands of times, and also featured on lost property websites including the Facebook group Spotted: On the Train.

It was there that Lauren's picture was discovered by Ben Simpson, the father of the girl who had lost the bear.

He said: "WOW the power of the internet and kind folk - that's my daughter Phoebe's bear - she has been in tears all weekend and I've just shown her the picture and she is over the moon. Thank you all so much!"
