Farthest distance

What is the farthest distance you have walked and what was the reason?

The furthest I ever walked in one day was about 25 miles.

The reason was: I was a Boy Scout.

The occasion was: our troop was doing a section of this-

Two come to mind. The first, I missed the bus to school, and my family had already left so I couldn't go home or get a lift, so I walked. About 9 miles in total I think it was. I got there for third period, which was cool, since I missed two classes I hated.

The other, I had a job interview at a university, specifically on its 300-acre campus. Of course, the only address they gave me was the address of the campus, no building name or anything. So I walked around that for about two hours before finding the place I needed to go.

My friend and I went on holiday to London. One day we just set out walking. We walked all day seeing the sights and shopping. We had a map of London that we were following to get to each destination. After each destination, we would cross it off the map. Have no idea the exact distance but the hotel clerk told us we walked about 30 miles after looking at the map.

I think 8 miles. For sponsered walk at school.

I have walked around places probably close to 8 miles since. But with my back the way it is I can't walk far anymore.

I think 8-10 miles. I parked my work vehicle on one side of the mountain, hiked up a trail to find some fencing and ended up all the way on the other side, so I had to walk to the road and then back around to where my truck was. Basically, a big circle.

I walked about 45-50 Miles once hitchhiking when I was a teenager. I had never felt so dead.

Now biking.... I've went far.

From across one town to the next. Not sure how many miles it was but it took all day.

I couldn't tell you the distance, but I sure remember a few long journies where I thought my legs would fall off
