Let me tell you the story of one father's life

His life was normal

A paying job and caring wife

But somehow he wanted more

He dreamed of houses by the shore

He dreamed of fortune and fame

He dreamed of people knowing his name

And his ego was never fading

His wife had given birth to a baby

He was now a father and he had his first and only son

But he was still not proud of all he had accomplished and done

He wanted more money, bigger houses, and to be known

He left his son to start a new life on his own

As his son became a bigger and more mature boy

He began to notice there was no father to fill the void

For years, never a trace of the father appeared

His mother only referred to him as the man who once lived here

But mother and son sat down and talked it out

She couldn't tell her son why Daddy walked out

She hoped to prevent future heartbreak with what she had said:

Your father doesn't care enough to even send you a loaf bread

She was crying when she told her son, Daddy doesn't care

He left his own flesh and blood to pursue his own careers”

But the son couldn't believe it and never lost faith

He wanted, more than anything, to see his father's face

So the mother gave him the number of his father's address

Without hesitation he left the small home to fulfill his quest

He found his dad working at a big company and in big company

He stood before his father's mansion sparkling and bright

A beautiful sight

Gorgeous women stood at his every side

And the boy knocked on the door expecting saving grace

But Daddy had no time for his son and slammed a door in his face

And the boy stood there crying for what he had feared

His mother was right, Daddy doesn't care

He left his own flesh and blood to pursue his own careers

He left what should have mattered most

To have a house on every coast

He left his caring wife

To have deceitful women at his side

He left his son who had much respect for him

For businessmen who valued him on a whim

He left his quiet life

To have houses lit with lights

The last image this boy had of his father

Was his father’s turned back

Be it as it may

Come that day

When all fortunes subside

And this man had died

He became a scared soul wandering the afterlife

Weary, with atrocious beasts behind his every step

When he found the gates of paradise

Bigger and brighter than the gates before his mansion

To his surprise, the golden doors were closed to him

There he stood, begging before closed gates of paradise

The man knocked and kept knocking

The sky grew dark and the gates slowly drifted away

The demons and beasts were nearing on him

Nowhere else to run, the man stood begging and pleading

The last image of paradise he saw was the turned back of the Father

To him this seemed all too familiar
