A lot of us sometimes enjoy music made in a language that isn't our native language (whether we understand the lyrics or not :P ). So, what are some of your favourites?

I'll start with Christopher Tin's Baba Yetu. It's a Swahili version of The Lord's Prayer, which was made as the theme tune for Sid Meier's Civilization IV. In my opinion, it's one of the greatest video game themes of all time - it certainly captures the 'epic' atmosphere of that kind of empire-building game!

What about you?

The Swedish rock of Tomas Ledin, Tommy Nilsson and Niklas Stromstedt, along with the pre Abba output of Agnetha Faltskog. I also like Kurdish music and the Vietnamese music of Khan Linh.

Gregorian Chants. I am not particularly religious but since it is all in Latin anyway and I don't speak Latin I find it soothing.

Also Voices by Douglas Spotted Eagle and a couple of his other albums. Native American

I love a lot of Rammstein and Eisbrecher, as well as Korpiklaani and Turmion Kätilöt, and also Eluvietie. All great bands that don't necessarily sing in English.

I am too scared to look up what those songs mean. :run:
From what I remember about Rosenrot it's about a priest who catches the eye of a young girl. He falls for her, hard, and so she deceives him into doing her bidding, "taking care" of those she doesn't like. When he leaves the house of one such victim, she's there and he smiles, to his dismay her finger turns on him, he's captured and killed by the towns folk for all that he did. It's about obsession and all that it can lead to. Spring is about a man who was walking on a bridge, went to take a picture by standing in the ledge and the crowd gathered thinking he was going to jump. Instead of trying to save him they all started to chant Spring (jump), drawing more and more people, surrounding the ledge and making it impossible for him to get down. Eventually they grow tired of waiting and one of them pushes him. "Spring. Erllöse mich. Spring. Enttäusch mich nicht. Spring für mich, Springs in Licht. Spring" Literally -- Jump. Redeem me. Jump. Don't disappoint men. Jump for me. Jump into the light. Jump.

Interesting, I guess that one isn't so scary.
