The funny thing is that you actually don't get burnt. I've had three lights now, and never burnt myself, even having the flame running up my arm was just nice and warm.



It's just kerosene, so it's a cold burn.

No... but if I did I'd probably catch something on fire, yet it looks pretty cool. Fortunately for others, I'll leave it up to you to entertain with fire.

Nope. It's kerosene, so it's actually a pretty cool flame. I've had my hand in the flame for almost four seconds once without having anything except some soot left on my hand... Although it was getting a bit toasty at that point.

Well, I went out for a spin tonight.



I got shut down.



Apparently someone called the cops and fire service on me. I heard the fire siren go off, thought nothing of it - it's near winter, smoke and stuff all over the place from woodfires clearing up again.



All of a sudden, four cops roll up, I'm answering questions, getting name and number taken, etc, etc.



They leave, happy since I'm packing up, and as I'm packing 7 guys in red suits and a big red firetruck roll up. They have a yell out the window and move on - they've been called out as well.



Stupid, stupid, stupid. It's the third time I've spun in that park when i've been lit, and I've never had any issues with them before! GAH!!!! Im going to get a pyro license and a find out what I need to do to keep this crap from happening again.



Anyone know of any relevant laws in NZ that could help?

Well, there is for extremely basic stuff. What I was doing in the pictures above is in my backyard, but there's no room to push yourself, which is what I want to do.

My friend used to do this. It's absolutely amazing to watch but I wouldn't want to try it myself. He used to do it in another friend's garden and one time we were drunk and spilt the kerosene on a wall, and it set on fire, freaked us out a bit

Idiot... You never do it drunk. You can't take proper precautions when you can't think straight... Especially with staffing. Poi are less dangerous, but staff is way out there.
