The US presidential campaign steps up a notch on Wednesday with the first televised debate. A month before Americans go to the polls on 6 November, here are five key things to know.

Not surprising the biggest issue is the economy.

The First Debate is Wednesday.

Moderator: Mister President, your first question, in the time allowed, please tell us your favorite color and why you like it.

Mr. Obama: First I'd like to say it is wonderful to be here and that I am especially looking forward for this chance to explain my vision to the American People. The answer to the question is Blue, of course, and I think it just looks good on me.

Moderator: Excellent answers sir. Governor Romney, in the time allowed, what would you do to solve the current crisis in the Middle East and how would you accomplish that mission. Please be precise as possible.
