This is a shame for these farmers and a shame for us too that have to pay higher prices. I have bought ears of frozen corn and they are just as good as fresh. They were on sale so I bought several 8 packs.

And as gas prices creep back towards $4 for various reasons including the price of the corn Uncle insists come out of the food supply for people and animals and is made into fuel as the least efficient ethanol option going....

.... watch for the economy to slide back into recession.

Paid $4.13 per gallon for Regular gas this morning.

Historically, it's been the nationwide average of $4 that is the tipping point.

Working people stop going out to eat, they stop buying anything they don't absolutely need, they make what they've got serve double or triple duty, and so on.

Our economy is consumer driven, when the consumers close their checkbooks, it stops.

Very true DrLeftover. We just had two small cafes close down within a week of each other. People are no longer willing to pay $3 for a cup of that designer coffee. The big thing here (and it's getting even bigger) is the attraction of garage/yard sales. Can find some great bargains especially when every penny now counts.

Yes, Food prices are rising because of drought. The Government's should take necessary action to decrease the food prices.
