The current ongoing world cup in Brazil is one of the most exciting WC events made so far, no one can expect who will win and most of the expectations went south. Who ever thought that "Costa Rica" would be the top team in its group that contained Italy, England and Uruguay? Who ever thought that Spain would be destroyed by Chile and Netherlands? Its an amazing WC.

However, many big and well known football super athletes are acting as douchebags. Look at what Pepe did in a very immature way against Thomas Muller in the first match between Portugal and Germany -- An unnecessary red card! Look at Balotelli of Italy who is wrestling not playing Football. Look at Suarez who is biting player (I guess he should consult a psychologist] Look at Antonio Valencia who received a red card for a very immature harsh tackle today against France. Look at Sameul Eto'o who was a total douchebag and refused to go onboard of Cameroon's national team plane because he wanted money first! These guys should be banned by FIFA for a period of time because they showed no since of nationalism or patriotism, they are just playing for money, endorsement and fame! Football became a business these days rather than a sports game, sadly!

As long as they get results for the team, who cares why they're doing it? :dontknow:

Who got results? They are all out except for Suarez who is highly expected to be banned for 24 matches to come because this is not his first biting incident.

It was a general statement, if they aren't getting results and are acting like douchebags then they should be kicked off the team.

If it were just these guys acting like flaming wads of... well... yeah, it would be a different story.

In the US you've now got a dozen millionaire basketball players with their panties in a knot because their team didn't win the championship.

And of course, there are always some American Football draft holdouts who won't sign with whichever team and become an instant millionaire because they want to play for some other team, even if they know damned good and well they won't be a starter with the other team.

And then there are the politicians who are playing for sympathy, and votes, claiming they're just like everybody else when they demand a SPEAKING FEE of more than some people make in a lifetime. And Get It! (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2667421/225-000-Thats-obscene-Hillary-Clinton-collect-massive-speaking-fee-Nevada-university-students-grapple-tuition-hikes.html )

No, it isn't just footballers who act like douche-bags.

No, it isn't just footballers who act like douche-bags.

I know its not just footballers but case here was specific, since sports is about generosity and fairplay, not just playing for money and fame like what most of today players do.

Even the Olympics, which is supposed to be the pinnacle of amateur sports has been corrupted by those in it for the love of filthy lucre.

It seems that if there is a way to make money off of a given human activity, it will be.

Exactly, rich clubs now are caring only for fame. They want to gather as many famous players as possible no matter how much they pay {especially those clubs managed by gulf businessmen} Add to that the MNCs which hire top notch sports superstars to just advertise their product in an ad that is no longer than 30 seconds and give them millions of dollars.

FIFA, in my opinion, is the most second powerful administration after USA administration. Its utterly corrupt and sadly they will keep farming billions and billions since people all around the world admire football and they won't pay attention to what FIFA is doing behind the scenes.

Believe it or not, I had more than one chance to become a professional football player in one of the biggest clubs in my country but I just preferred to be an amateur and play the game as a football big lover, not just considering it as a profession.

Looks like he's out too:
Luis Suarez has been suspended for nine international matches and banned from all football activities for four months for biting an opponent.

The ruling means his World Cup is over and will come as a blow to his club Liverpool - who will be without their star player for the start of the Premier League season.

Uruguay's football federation has said it will appeal the ruling, described by its president Wilmar Valdez as "a severe punishment."

"It feels like Uruguay has been thrown out of the World Cup," he said in Rio de Janeiro. "Not having Suarez would be a loss to any team."

There has been no comment so far from the striker.

Fifa took action after Suarez sank his teeth into Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini's shoulder during Uruguay's Group D clash with Italy on Tuesday.

The world governing body has also banned the 27-year-old from entering any stadium where Uruguay are playing during his suspension - meaning he cannot cheer on his teammates when they play Colombia in their last 16 match on Saturday.

Suarez has also been fined 100,000 Swiss Francs (£66,000) and is banned from training with Uruguay or Liverpool as part of his punishment.

Fifa said Suarez and the Uruguay FA were informed of the decision on Thursday morning.

Despite the appeal Suarez will still not be able to continue playing in Brazil.

Claudio Sulser, chairman of the Fifa disciplinary committee, said: "Such behaviour cannot be tolerated on any football pitch and particularly at the World Cup."

This is the third time Suarez has been suspended for biting an opponent after similar incidents with Ajax in the Dutch league and Liverpool. in April 2013 he was given a 10-match ban by the Premier League for biting Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic.

The latest ban will not prevent Suarez from moving to a different club this summer but he could not play for them until the sanction ends. He has been linked with a transfer to Barcelona.

As a result of the suspension Suarez is likely to miss Liverpool's first nine Premier League fixtures and three Champions League group stage games.

yeah I read that earlier and I am happy he is banned. Hoped he would get a 2-year ban.

Should be the 'three strikes and your out' rule applied here. Get rid of him as he definitely has some mental issues that need to be addressed.

I never liked him personally. He is an overrated mentally retarded player.

Liverpool had wanted to trade him, but now he's radioactive and nobody is going to touch him until he gets some mental help and serves his time.

Even then, he's trouble on the hoof, he's going to do something stupid again.

But remember, even Terrel Owens found somebody that would sign him after he did naked pushups in his driveway.

He is one of the best strikers in the world. You can't deny that, he tore England to shreds.

Being a good player doesn't mean you should be sane. He is mentally retarded I am pretty sure. Remember the most crazy persons around usually are the best badasses around.
