Forgot The Baby

I read in the paper this morning that a two month old baby died from heat stroke. How? The mother locked the car (with the baby inside) and went shopping in the mall. A woman walking past the car happened to look inside. She saw the baby and tried desperately to open the car door. She dialed 911 and police where there within minutes. The police got the door open but it was too late. The mother was paged and escorted outside. The police informed her that her baby had passed away.



The mother claims she forgot the baby was in the car.



How the hell can you FORGET your baby is with you?

You do it by filling your mind with so much useless junk that you push out the things that truly matter such as that child. I wouldn't be half surprised if she was chatting on her phone and was so focused on the conversation she was having to think of anything else.

I've seen it happen quite often where people forget children or pets in the car. I don't know if you would consider it negligence, but it is as Bluezone said about their mind being elsewhere. It's understandable, but unfortunately by the time they remember it is already too late. Living with the pain of knowing you caused your child's death is terrible punishment enough.

You feed and dress the baby. You then put the baby in the car seat. You then drive to the mall. You then forget the baby is in the car. You then kill your baby. This, in my opinion, is worse than neglect or child abuse. This is murder and should be treated as such.

This is worse then that 19 year old girl who put her baby and the carseat the baby was in on top of her car, then drives off with the kid still on top.

Kill might be too strong a verdict if it was the case that she honestly forgot. Maybe involuntary manslaughter?

I had a baby left in a car, with all the windows up, in Tesco's car park on Thursday. A man had to smash the window of a car because some stupid family left their baby in the back seat! Thank god we have a security guard who was able to take her registration number and reported her. She was a little confused when she got to her car, as to why there was glass on the floor.

Thank goodness the man saw the baby and was able to help. Hope this stupid woman gets a hefty fine for this. Again, I don't understand how the hell you can forget your baby is in the car with you.
