Say you're making a forum about a tv show or movie or even a hobby do you feel these types of forums work that are based on a targeted audience? Would you find them to be hard to work with? Would you feel that due to there not being many forums about a specific tv show or movie that there would be a lot of interest?

Do you prefer forums that are on a specific topic or do you prefer the normal webmaster/general chatter ones.

I feel that both have their pros and cons. It truly depends on what the admin is going for. Do they want a big community with lots of active members? Are they looking for a few active members, you know, among friends? What's the fandom, so on and so forth? I've seen specific forums work very well and I've seen general chat forums work well. I've also seen both of those fail miserably, so it depends on a lot of aspects.

For some reason I see lots of people making forums for tv shows when their about to be cancelled or have already been cancelled. Or a forum about a movie that has already come out. It seems like those types of boards would thrive the most if created in the first season of a show or way before a movie comes out while its being hyped up.

Anyway, lots of niche based forums do amazing and some flop. It's the same with anything I suppose.
