Found your kid bullying your pet?

I wouldn't want to experience this, but what are you going to do if you return home to notice that your kid has bullied your pet at home?

I'm glad that I don't have to worry about this. I suppose the first thing I would think to do is to find a better home for the animal. Since 'studies show' that this is one of the predominant signs of budding young psychopaths, it would indeed be very worrisome.

Normally when you have a pet and people in the household won't refrain from being mean to it, you can do one of two things if they don't stop; move out or find a new home for the pet.

This is a situation I believe is more common that most people realize, largely because the phrase 'bullying' might mislead them. As a child, I know I was never deliberately mean to an animal, however, I wouldn't be surprised to learn I unintentionally (or carelessly) didn't treat it appropriately (i.e. carrying it when it didn't want to be carried). In my head, I can imagine hundreds of images of small children holding an animal in the Heimlich position, lugging them around like they're about to go Brock Lesnar and send them to Suplex City.

Little things like that, luckily, aren't much a representation of the actual person. They do it because they're kids and most times, genuinely, don't know any better. It is your job to change that and make it so they do know better.

Makes me re-think my answer because what I was responding to was "willful abuse"; the actual question was "bullying"....really quite a difference.

I am totally in favor of the newer method(s) of dog/puppy training that do not include the old whips & chains methods. The idea of getting the dog to please you because it wants to do so instead of pleasing you because it's afraid of you. But, it still seems like there is some bullying involved...like, "Dog, I'm in charge of the treats & food; so if you want some then you're not getting any until you SIT!"

A lot of people don't know they're abusing their parrots. You cant pet them just anywhere. You have to pet their head. No where else because anywhere else like their back, wings, or belly is going to sexually frustrate them and piss them off. So if you get bit, thats your fault.

I did not know that; can't know everything.

Lots of bird owners think that they either have a mean bird, or that it's 'cute' when the bird objects by biting.

It's cute until it causes them to become cage aggressive, have fun fixing that problem.
