Hands up who wants to quit work, up sticks and move to a beautiful island in the middle of the Pacific where it’s lovely and warm all year round?

And the government is so keen for you to move there they’ll give you your own plot of land to build a house on.

Someone basically wants to GIVE you your own Richard Branson-style Necker Island. Sort of.

So here’s the deal.

Pitcairn is a tiny island with a population of less than 50, just 2.2miles from East to West.

The temperature is at least 62F (17C) all year round.

The nearest big country is New Zealand, although that’s more than 3,000 miles away.

You’d have be pretty self-sufficient, though, as there’s just one shop, open three times a week, and you can only order food from New Zealand every three months.

There are no jobs on offer, but the island has electricity and the internet, so if you already work from home what’s to stop you?

To move there you must prove you have ‘skills which will be beneficial to the Pitcairn community,’ though.

One reason people may have kept away in the past is because the island, settled by mutineers from HMS Bounty, was hit by a child sex abuse scandal in 2004.

Six men were imprisoned for sexual offences, including the mayor.

Jacqui Christian, who represents the island in Europe, told The Telegraph they had received many enquiries but only one application to move there so far.

She said: ‘It is a special place and it is beautiful seeing the stars without light pollution.

‘There are the bluest waters you have ever seen.’

For details on moving to the island visit The Government Of The Pitcairn Islands website.

Would you live there?

Would love to visit but not to live there.

Question: Does it have access to a good internet connection? If so, sure.
