A crazy golf course in Derby has sparked fury over a hole featuring a model of Adolf Hitler which gives a Nazi salute.

The Daily Mirror reports that the model shouts "Nein nein nein" and raises his arm when players successfully hit their ball through a tunnel.

The hole is part of an exhibition at Derby's art centre Quad, called Doug Fishbone and Friends: Adventureland Golf.

Designed by British artists including Jake and Dinos Chapman, David Shrigley, Gary Webb and Doug Fishbone, there are nine holes including Hitler and Saddam Hussein.

Dubbed "crazy golf with an artistic twist" by Quad, bosses said the aim of the exhibition was to "ridicule" the two dictators.

Michael Samuels, of the Board of Deputies of British Jews, slammed the Hitler model, saying it had "absolutely no artistic value whatsoever".

One Derby resident said: "As someone who lost family members in both conflicts, I consider this grossly offensive. If this is art then, quite frankly, we would be better off without it."

Visitors can view the exhibits for free at Derby's art centre Quad, or can play the course for £2.

Art or not?

Art or not? I find myself coming back to the same answer, that being that I don't care, and I can't believe anybody would actually be offended by something so irrelevant and pointless.

A chance to hit Hitler in the balls with a golf ball and people complain?

It's bad taste and I don't see how it's particularly artful, but basically... whatever.
