Game of Thrones...how many seasons?

There are 5 books atm. Book 3 was split into 2 seasons.
This means we're at season 5 now (book 4) and there will be at least a season 6 (book 5). It's been officially renewed for those seasons.
As for what happens after that, no one knows. Ideally the 6th book would be out, but the writer is becoming slower and slower with his releases. He did tell the producers how it'll end though, so a probable scenario would be that the show will continue on their own after season 6, working their way to the end in their own way.
