Responding to an emergency call last night, we got behind a driver that failed to pull over and stop to let us by. We had lights, sirens and horns blasting but this idiot still refused to pull over and get out of our way.

To drivers that refuse to yield to emergency vehicles:



Get out of our way pull over and stop your vehicle. We can't help anyone if we can't get there! Every second counts and we lose precious time by your stupidity. When you or someone you care about needs immediate help, you will be thankful for the driver that had sense enough to pull over and did not impede our response time!



Yield! It could be your emergency one day!

We pride ourselves on our response time. From the time the 911 call comes in and we arrive on scene is 3 minutes. This time, however, we arrived on scene in 8 minutes. Those 5 minutes could have resulted in the patient not making it. This time we were lucky that we were able to stabilize the patient and transport without incident. Next time, however, we might not be so lucky.

Yes. This idiot will be slapped with a fail to yield to emergency vehicle citation. The fine is $150.00.
