What do you think the best way to get rid of a cold faster is? Lots of rest, drinking 2 liters of water a day, and many hours of sleep should do the trick. Has anybody else got any other useful tips they'd like to share?

Keep warm, don't get junk, drink water, stay away from other people, blow your noise out like a beetroot And wait till it goes :P

Drink a lot of water and rest. Also have a nice chicken soup.

That works for me, in no more than 2 days you'll be ok.

Drink water and sleep a lot so your immune system can get rid of it.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned vitamin C either thru tablet and/or orange juice etc.. Anyway, I know it prevents colds. I'm not sure if it gets rid of them.

I've always had bad luck with colds. It normally takes me a month to get rid of it which is very irritating. One time I had a cold so bad that it took 2 months and I lost my voice completely.

One thing to remember is to wash your hands before eating to stop them to begin with. I mean, honestly, I don't get colds that much. O.K., another thing I heard is to keep your feet from getting wet or cold for a long period, but not sure about that one.

I often get quite heavy colds, and they result in sinus infections afterwards. Thankfully since having the flu jab on a yearly basis again, I seem to be doing better at fighting them off..

When I'm unwell, all I want to do is sleep which often helps me to recover quicker. Sometimes paracetamol or lemsip also helps to take the edge off a bit.

Most old folks in my country recommend having some ginger tea, and of course, we need to take in a lot of fluid in our bodies.

Other than having enough rest and lots water, I usually take Vitamin C with zinc.

For me I do take hot tea and within minutes I would okay. Sometimes also staying indoors under a duvex can help.
