CCTV footage from a Kent shop appears to show a box of tea levitating in mid-air behind a customer.

The clip, from the Whitstable Nutrition Centre high street store, is going viral on YouTube notching up more than 40,000 views.

The grey-haired man seems oblivious to the apparent paranormal activity as the box hangs in mid-air behind him.

Then another box suddenly flies off the shelf, seemingly unaided, capturing his attention and he then picks up the fallen goods.

Shopkeeper Michelle Newbold said the footage was "a complete mystery".

"I was perplexed I suppose," she told Kent Online. "I just couldn't believe it. I have no idea about how it has happened.

"I have never seen anything like it since I've been running the shop. The customer never said anything and I don't even know who it was."

Ms Newbold came across the astonishing footage while doing her weekly review of the store's CCTV footage.

"We check sometimes if we think something is suspicious or if a dodgy character is in the shop."

But she added: "I don't believe in ghosts and this hasn't changed anything.
