Go Sober for October

Anyone else going Sober for October? Some people here will know (from my miserable posts) that I tend to drink a fair amount (Friends and family have laughed when I say I am doing this, but I am determined.) So this will be a REAL challenge for me.
My mum is a cancer survivor. People in my family have died of cancer, and a couple are currently going through it.

I don't drink a drop anyway, so I think this will be fairly easy for me. Good luck to you, Stormrider. I know it can be tough if it's such a common thing in one's life.

Good for you trying to stay sober. Don't let the people in your life discourage you from making it through the month sober. I don't drink myself so it won't mean much for me to be sober through this month as I don't care much for alcohol in the first place.

I don't plan on stopping in general, I want to do this for the cancer charity. The no booze is the challenge.

5 days in. Going well.

I'm abit annoyed how little of my family have actually donated. My 2 best friends already told me they are not going to donate to this. I mean what is a couple od quid! I'm not asking for everyone to donate £5 - £10 + just £1 or £2, it is all worth the money.

If it's a charity they don't support, you shouldn't try to force them to donate to it. That would just make them less likely to do it.

I did charity work for more years than I want to think about.

Some people give, some don't, and sometimes you're surprised by which is which.
