If you own domain names (such as a .com, .net or .org) what registrar do you use?

The two most popular ones are GoDaddy and NameCheap

I have experience with both. Off Topix.net and every other domain name Ive ever owned was always registered with GoDaddy. If you used GoDaddy, you know how much they try to force pointless extra add-ons. Its almost overwhelming. Not only that, their .net renewal prices are usually around $15. Because I'm a cheapskate and wanted to save $5, I transferred Off Topix.net over to namecheap and I have to say, I love the namecheap control panel. Its very simple and user friendly. No hard up-sale tactics in there either. They seem to have all the answers I need in easy to find places and the emails sent to me about the transferring process made it a very easy process. No wonder they have over $3 million customers and voted the best domain name registrar and "Most Popular Domain Name Registrar" in Lifehacker polls.

I've had my own site for almost twenty years, I've owned multiple sites for about 15 now.

I have used http://www.hostmysite.com for about twelve years now. They were very helpful when we had questions or problems, and when my wife added a shopping cart and credit card processing to her site they talked her through the process.

When they became part of hosting.com, the level of service declined slightly, but they are still much better than my first host- oneworldhosting who were useless, expensive, and unreliable.

Hosting and domain registrars are separate beasts, unless you are using a host that manages both I suppose. According to the whois info your site Doc, the registrar of record is Tucows, Inc.

I've used both as well. I just didn't like the fact that NameCheap didn't take PayPal at the time. Also I can always find some decent coupon codes for GoDaddy.
