Have you ever gone to the hospital in an ambulance? What happened to you?

But I've gone from one hospital to another in an ambulance.

I dont think I ever have either. Ive always just been driven to the hospital when something was really wrong with me. Most people around here (especially those without insurance) will convince you not to call 911 and just take them to the hospital. I think an ambulance ride is like $1500

The cost for tourists is $600 though - bit pricey, but hey, when you're life is on the line it doesn't matter how much it is.

I once fell on ice and tore a tendon in my right ankle and trying to break the fall, I also broke my left wrist. I had no choice but to call for an ambulance since there was no way I could drive myself and my friends were working. The ambulance ride cost $1,200 but thank goodness it was covered under my insurance.

Then how do you pay for the ambulance itself, the equipment, and even the fuel?



Even a volunteer fire service has to purchase and maintain their hardware so some of them around here will ask for a suggested donation for the trip.

Good point.

I've been in many ambulances just during the 6+ weeks I was in the hospital afer my bike wreck. The first one, that took me from the scene, (I am told) didn't even put on its siren or flashers because they thought I was a DOA. During my stay in 3 hospitals I had to see other specialists for certain injuries and had to be taken by ambulance to all of those. Luckily, I have no memory of any of it.

Only from one hospital to another and when I was taking my EMS class. Ambulance rides are way too expensive to waste money on.

Well the thing is I have been to hospital 2 times because number 1 I split my skull in half but I don't know the other thing
