Well, after much deliberation, Nebulous and I have decided to hold the first annual Halloween Avatar contest.

As you can see, we are both wearing our Halloween costumes, in honor of the big day. Submit your avatar/costume (which you must be wearing also) and after a week of submissions, we'll start the voting. The winner will be announced on All Hallow's Eve (Oct 31). The Winner will receive $100 Off Topix Bucks, and a banner of their choice will be displayed for 2 weeks.

I don't understand! So is this a in real life make a costume and take a photo and post it on Off Topix competition, or a pick some character and make it avatar size competition?

Basically you change your avatar here on Off Topix to a Halloween one. Either find on the web somewhere or make one yourself. Make sure nobody else is using the same avatar though. So if you do choose to go find one on the web somewhere, make sure you snag a good one before someone else grabs it!

Nope. We called it a costume simply because on forums your avatar is like your 'clothes' Any image that meets the avatar size limits, and the TOS restrictions is fine.
