Have you ever struggled financially to the point a friend or a loved one stepped in and bought groceries for you?

Yes. I paid them back when I was able to, and I have also bought groceries for others on several occasions. I much prefer to give than to receive.

My mom would send me money years and years ago if she notice I was struggling.

I have bought a few people their groceries. Usually it's under $100. I started doing it a few years ago, once a month I do a good deed and for a while it was buying peoples groceries.

When I was growing up, we were really poor, and my grandparents would often buy us food to eat. My parents did the same thing for my sister and her family for a few years when they were struggling. I would definitely do it for my daughter as well if she ever needed help.

Yes. We relied on delivery services like Instacart and those that had their own during the pandemic and also when my husband was unable to walk after he came from the hospital and was wheelchair bound.

And when we did take a financial hit my family always stepped up to the plate and offered to do so, and we always declined, not because of pride but because I kmow that they were in similar circumstances themselves and I've never been the kind of person to just spread the bad stuff like that.

But the offer still touched me nonetheless.

No, but someone paid for my Subway sandwich one day while I was on lunch.
That's cool!
Some stranger paid for my Wendy's burger one day .... just 'out of the blue'; he was not creepy or anything.

Yes... there was a time (not so long ago) when I was actually starving to death. Whatever money I had went to keep the lights on, and so I couldn't really feed myself.

Then, one day, my best friend backed into my driveway and started unloading boxes upon boxes of stuff.

His generosity literally saved me, as I was able to bridge the gap between paychecks.
