I have been self-employed for more than 10 years. By the time, I graduated, I was already earning money as a freelancer, therefore, never thought about getting a job. However, in the last 10-12 years, I tried working with someone else twice, and both times it did not work. Do you have a job or are self-employed? Have you ever considered self-employment?

In my country, being a self-employed business owner is suicide. The State made sure of that by imposing ridiculously high taxes and unnecessarily complicated bureaucratic procedures that serve no practical purpose other than artificially creating job positions for parasites pretending to be humans who'd otherwise be unemployed due to their utter lack of competence, but due to corruption and nepotism have been given made up jobs where all they do is shuffle papers around from one side of the desk to the other side and back. Literally.

A freelancer in what field?

I've thought about starting my own business a few times but like @Smiley said there is too many restrictions, taxes and whatnot. Especially in California. Many companies leave this state because they can be more profitable in other states where there isn't so much red tape.

I had a job hated it and now I am self employed earning more money and working on my own schedule, love it

I used to do freelance graphic design in Chicago many moons ago, then after that I did portraits at my house of people and or pets. I never charged enough for the portraits and never made enough money to keep going at it.

No. I don't have any good ideas outside of being employed by someone else. Tried running a business once when I was 19 and that didn't go over so well.

What was the business and what happened?

Most people have too much to loose unfortunately. The odds are against you that things wont work out.
Of course but that’s the thing, you have to take risks in life to reap rewards.

In my business breeding snakes, I invested £4000 straight up not having a clue if it would work.

Snakes? You breed snakes? Of all the animals...

No, don't think I'd have the business skills for it.
I believe everyone one has the skill to create their own business.

Find something your really passionate about and just jump right in, it’s the best thing I ever did.
