It's official! The Miami Heat are headed to the 2012 NBA finals with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
After the Heat have bounced back from teams such as the Pacers and the Boston Celtics, they have proven to me that they are resilient, determined, and can handle the big games when they count. However I agree with many experts about their primary shortcomings regarding consistency. You know what to expect from the big 3: Lebron, D.Wade, and Bosh.
However the supporting cast needs to step up big time and be a factor. This will require big games from players like Chalmers, Haslem, Battier, and the battered Mike Miller.
The Heat have a lot on their plate facing OKC. OKC are scarily mature for such a young team and have well proven that they are a championship team. Unlike the Heat, the Thunder are known for their reliable bench. Players like Fisher, Collison, and 6th man of the year:
OKC also has terrific defensive players like Perkins and Serge Ibaka (or should I say I-block-ya):
They have a great home record and have even earned props from even Popovich after they beat San Antonio. They run great offense with their big three: James Harden (#13), Russell Westbrook (#0), and Kevin Durant (#35)
It will be an interesting match-up.
