Heimlich Maneuver

Have you ever had to perform this maneuver on anyone else or even yourself? Maybe you've seen it performed on someone?

One time a peice of food got stuck in my throat and it was pretty scary. I finally calmed down enough to drink some water and that dislodged it.

I was sucking on a lifesaver just now and I wondered what would happen if I accidentally sucked on it too hard and it shot into the back of my throat and got lodged there. (Wow, that sentence sounded really dirty, keep your minds out of the gutter!)

I have performed the Heimlich Maneuver several times. I applaud people who know how do to it. This is a maneuver that everyone really should know how to perform.

Agreed. I was watching a video of how to perform it on myself, but it'd probably be good if I knew how to do it on someone else, too.
