I am unsure on this reboot. I loved the original Hellboy movies with Ron Perlman because they were unique and done by the amazing Guillermo del Toro.

They tried another remake of this with David Harbour from Stranger Things. It didn't get as much praise as maybe it should have. I reckon this one should have had Abe Sapien as he's my favorite character and was portrayed amazingly by Doug Jones in Del Toro's films. I just didn't really think much of Harbour's performance if compared to Perlman's.

Brian Taylor did direct Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance so he's good with the comic book films but I just hope if they do go through with this reboot they put a lot of effort into the characters.

I like the story, switching up the actors sucks though. I'll probably watch it.

An update:
Brian Taylor says his Hellboy reboot will be a "creepy folk horror" film with a very different feeling compared to the previous Hellboy movies.

They need to reel it in and go for a smaller budget. There isn't an audience for the costlier Hellboy films, but they could "earn" that if they go back to basics first.

Yeah like having Ron Perlman be the main character.

It'd depend on his asking cost - although, he is in direct-to-video films a lot, so it isn't like he is in a position to gobble up a high asking cost. One other variable is his age, he has said he is too old to play Hellboy again - although, again, with what I said about a smaller, lower budget film, you can largely get away with camera trickery, hiding things off-screen, or basing it more it in atmosphere than action.

He can do it for the love of the franchise, not the paycheck. Also if they can keep putting Liam Neeson in actions movies, Ron Perlman can do it :P
