This Saudi Arabian man is a real-life Easy Rider – as he nonchalantly sends a text message while sitting on the bonnet of a car travelling at 55mph.

His moment of madness has become a viral hit on the video-sharing website YouTube after more than a million tuned in to watch his dumb stunt.

Playing with his mobile phone, the mystery man seems oblivious to the dangers of his foolish antics – as he reclines to lounge against the windscreen, kicks his feet in the air and even climbs onto the roof of the car as it speeds down a highway.

The footage shows that all the passenger seats in the car, headed from Riyadh to Mecca, are full, so presumably that’s why he hitched a ride on the bonnet.
