Have you ever been around someone that always has to have you try what they're eating?
Even if you advise them that you are not interested in trying it, and they are persistent that you try it anyways, will you?

Yeah. Some people cannot take no for an answer. They take it personally when you won't accept what they're offering you. Happened the other day at work when my boss was trying to get me to eat one of his stupid Nutty Bars at lunch time. I just wasn't in the mood for sweets at the time. He was persistent until he finally said "Fine! Whatever" and dropped it.

I completely agree man, it's really annoying. I truly do appreciate the offer, but if I am not in the mood then please accept my first denial. I do not mind a "are you sure" but the whole "no, you NEED to try this--it's sooo good" adds to my not wanting to try what they are offering. :P

Usually people believe me when I say "No, thank you."

Even those people pushing samples in Sam's Club or at the mall or someplace.

I do remember one time when a fruitcake didn't believe me when I was walking through the mall with my wife and he was pushing some lotion or other and asked us repeatedly as we approached his stand which we had to walk by to get where we were going, even after we had both said no. He stepped in front of us with this crap in his hand and started his sales pitch.

Fortunately, I can still use my "prison work site 'Count Time!'" announcement voice, and did so in no uncertain terms.

Everybody for several yards in either direction stopped what they were doing and it woke up mall security. (vendors are not supposed to impede traffic flow)

On our way back through from what we were going to do, he ignored us completely.

It's happened to me a few times.

No, I will not try it if I don't want to. Usually I just tell them I'm not feeling well and if I eat what they're trying to force on me, I'll puke. That gets them to back off every time.
