Hey what the hell happened to my forum!

Don't you just hate it when something goes wrong when you're either updating your forum or installing a new feature? Like tonight, while trying to get a cash module working for phpBB 3.0.6, whenever I tried to open a new topic or even look at a topic, a blank screen showed up.

It's happened to me a lot when I had to do file edits for modifications. Sometimes it sucks because it requires searching on what the problem is and it can take awhile.

I know on an old board of mine, I'm no longer able to access its main header/footer. Pretty sure its got something to do with a code. And it does suck when something wonky happens.

vB is really good. I was editing a template a week or two ago and I made a mistake, it caught the mistake and told me to fix it!

I was very impressed.

I edited one once and stuffed up the <if> tag, i had it as <fi> and it went Do not recognize <fi> tag



So i went and fixed it.

BTW: if you wanna laugh, try and move a thread into the forum that it's already in. Like, move this thread into forum discussions, and then see what comes up.

It didn't happen to my forum but it happened to my blog that I used to own. I edited the copyrighted text on the bottom and the next thing I knew , I can't log in to my own blog.

One time I tried moving an old announcement on my forum to the Archive section, and then when I was clicking on the forum I wanted, I accidently hit the Announcements section. At first I was like, what? why won't it go in there?? Then I tried moving it again and then I realized what I did wrong. It's a mistake that happens occasionally, but I try to avoid making that mistake all together.

well this doesn't exactly count, but one of my forums i was going into the admin cp and i have a difficult password (i'm always forgetting it!) and so i kept trying it this way and that way and then it said that the admin cp was locked for a while and that i couldn't get in! and i found out if you put in the wrong password a couple of times the admin cp will be locked for 24 hours, so i have to wait now. but it might be over now.

test boards help out a lot with testing new things. I usually attempt to install a code on a test board before putting on the main board so nothing happens.
