...You know those things you get when someone bites & sucks on your skin. Also known as passion marks & other terms.



What do you think about them? Do you find them offensive or unattractive on yourself or other people? Have you ever got or gave them?

Depends where on the body the hickey is located. If the hickey is visible like on the neck for others to see, then I find that slutty looking and unattractive. This is especially true (IMO) if you have a job and show up sporting a visible suck mark for your boss and others to see. Why not just wear a sign Hey I just got laid.



I have had hickeys in my life and I have given them as well. They were not located where they could be viewed by the public.

I agree that non-visible ones are alright but I think the neck should be off limits.

I have one on my neck right now but its hardly visible because I put ice on it for a while last night. I think they are ugly on me and I don't like them. Sometimes you get swept up in the moment and dont realize that the other person is giving you one.



Sometimes I wonder if people give them to their partner to signal other's that he/she is taken. Possibly an act done out of insecurity/trust issues?

Think about, another person is putting their mark on you. To me that means he/she belongs to me. Why? Again, IMO, they want others to know you're taken and are off limits.

I am uncomfortably reminded of a time when my mom would have quite a few on her neck when I was younger cause of her then boyfriend *My sister's dad* And later my brother's dad. When I think on it. Was rather unattractive.

Never been a fan of them. Have I received them? Absolutely. Hey I gave them? Same thing. Seemed like what young kids were doing. But like some other members, never at places seen by other people. I think they are pretty gross.

I've been there and even in the heat of passion, I would NOT let the guy put marks on me where the whole world could see them. What would you tell your daughter happened to your neck if she asked?
