I might have made a world record but I have just gotten hired and fired within a day, I have made a habit out of working with newer forums and assisting them in growth and in the process I teach them the ropes so to speak, that is of course if they accept it. Well, when I looked around the forum at which I was just given a moderator position on and I noticed a few things such as the fact that his coding and so on was incorrectly placed on the site causing some of the images on the skins not to work and of course the always lovable content such as lettering on the bottom that makes it noticed that something might not have worked properly, I pointed it out to him just encase and he said he was not sure how to delete it and said it wasn't a big deal and left it there. I also noticed his post count was around 1,700, which would be very impressive for a site that is just getting its start but I realized the site only had around 1752 posts all in all. I than looked and saw that he had made 1600 topics in the News Section. Most of which weren't even current time, a good portion of them came from all the way back to 2007 which I guess I could see justifiable for a news website but it was just a simple general discussion so the only reason I see that as necessary is to bump up the post count.

Like I said, because the website was brand new and I knew statistically, the software should never be anything as permanent. It wasn't like Invisionfree, phpBB,Zetaboards or any of the other popular free software I believe it was ProBoards, but that I can't be sure of. Sense he didn't have a clue what he was doing meaning all reason for staying was unknown, I made the suggestion of heading to another more potentially successful forum that could not only garner more success but could be more beneficial to learn. He blasted me for it and said that he didn't ask for this nor did he want my opinion and stated that my job was to moderate the forum and make graphics. I could have exploded at him right there just for that little message, I don't like the idea of contributing my time and effort to a website ran by someone that doesn't see me as an equal but as an employee, I am not saying he should just jump shifts to another software if he truly believes that this one could be a success and all in all loves it to death, and if he would have said that I might have continued my encouraging to try and make him atleast see what the other websites have to offer but I wouldn't have been a least bit upset.

But no, he decides for himself that I don't have an opinion and leaves it at that, as a staff member and as a member alone I would like to think the owner gives a *poo* about what I have to say. So I told him how I felt about the situation and made it clear I wasn't going to be led by anyone or necessarily told what to do. I came there to assist his website in growth and maybe if he felt willing teach him a thing or to not to be used..... and ...... he fired me but not before saying that I was being very inappropriate. I wasn't being inappropriate, I said nothing that should of had the power to anger someone else, all I said was my opinion and what I believed could have made the site better.

Have you ever met someone like that or have you been fired or removed from your position for not legitimate reasons?

Sounds like a dictator. People like that end up with nobody and a dead forum.

I try my best to value all opinions I recieve. If someone was nasty like that to me on their forum, I'd merely resign and fail to return to that forum.

Has happened to me, but not from a mod point of view. I made a similar suggestion as a member on a forum. I was banned :/

People like that won't get anywhere in the forum world.
