Holiday Memories

What are some of your favorite holiday memories? A special gift you got one Christmas? A birthday ritual that your family always does? A story that always got told on Halloween? A special that you watched on TV? Something that really makes the holidays special?







I think when we were kids the best memory of holidays was just getting together with family. We always went to my cousins house for Thanksgiving and had a pot luck dinner. 75 to 100 people (conservative estimate) Now, sadly, the get-together is quite a bit smaller. 20 to 35.



What about you? Any holiday--birthday, Christmas, Halloween, other.......

I remember when I was younger getting a super nintendo and for christmas (back when it was the hottest new system out). I just about died with happiness. I was the envy of all the kids on my street because I was the 1st and only one to have one for a while. Everyone wanted to play at Nebulouss house back then.

I remember the Christmas trees and decorating them. I don't know why, but Christmas trees make me feel happy whenever I see them.



I remember the feelings I'd get around Christmas and watching Christmas movies, especially When the Grinch Stole Christmas and A Christmas Story every year. I still love those movies.



And I remember the excitement of being a child and staying up all night waiting for the morning when it would be Christmas.

I remember the smells of the house from everything.. Cabbage rolls, nelesnaka, a big turkey and ham. I remember the house being incredibly warm. I remember how my great-grandparents, still at 85 and 87, cooked for 30 people.. And did most of the work.

I said Santa has the same exact handwriting as grandma!!!!!! Thats impossible!

Then she fessed up.

My best memory from the holiday's would be the Christmas I spent with my then girlfriend and now wife!



We were in the 9th grade and we dressed alike and stuff...red! My family fell in love with her the moment she walked in the door.

That's kinda late to be putting gifts under the tree. He should have done it after you had gone to bed, not as you're getting out of bed.
