Hotel aims to scare guests witless

A London hotel is getting a horror-themed makeover which it reckons will petrify even the most hardened of guests.

Visitors are this week being challenged to spend a night in a 'warped' room at the Camden Lock Holiday Inn.

The pop-up experiment is part of a stunt marking for the DVD and Blu-ray release of horror film Mama, starring Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Jessica Chastain.

Each night, special effects experts will inflict the most horrifying moments from the film on the guests, in their very own hotel room.

Sounds and scents will tease and torment guests and there will be dreadful paranormal visitations

Senior show producer Gary Oke said: "The experience is designed to play on your deep seated genetic fears and we've really ramped up the fear factor to create something that will have a lasting effect on those brave enough to try it out."

Tasneeem Buitendijk, the hotel's general manager added: "We're just hoping that we don't make the visitors too scared to ever return."
