House vs Apt

About a month ago I moved from my apartment /duplex thingy to a house. The rent for this house is not a lot more than what I was paying for the apartment. I lived in that tiny apartment for the last 4 years. I dont miss it AT ALL.



Its so nice not having any shared / common walls with anyone.

Every time the neighbors had sex or a big fight, I would hear it. Our bedroom wall was the common wall. Dont miss that at all.

Every time I had a girl over, I would worry about the neighbors hearing what was going on. Dont miss that.

Every time I had people over late, I would have to tell them to be quiet constantly (either in the house or outside) because there was people sleeping a few feet away. Dont miss that.

There was bugs in the apartment and they would not go away ever. No matter how many times I had the pest control people come out and spray. There wasnt a big infestation, but seeing them every once in a while was enough to gross me out. Dont miss that.

I dont miss the tiny backyard.

I definitely dont miss the bitchy and bossy property manager who would act like she was superior to everyone and queen of the apartments.



I love all the extra space and not being cramped anymore. I love being only a few minutes from work and being able to come home on my lunch breaks. All and all I would say that moving was the best thing Ive done in 2010 so far. It was also my new years resolution. Ive been depressed living in that stupid apartment for a long while and Im glad I decided to make the change.

Thanks! I am very happy here. Despite the neighbors across the street who occasionally like to play their music loud or drive their cars into their driveway with their car stereo blasting until they finally turn off the engine and get out of the car, the homeless people who seem to wander the surrounding streets because a homeless shelter is not to far away (Never seen on my street yet though, its a court / cul-de-sac. so there is nothing down here to walk to), and the near by train tracks.... its all STILL better than my last place.. BY FAR.
