How do you feel about police officers?

Do you feel like they make things easier where you live or do you think they just cause more unwanted problems?

I hate the police.

Well, my father is a police officer in Serbia and I am proud of it. He works everyday to catch those who seek bad in any way. My country is very strict when it comes to police so there is no police brutality in regular work. But if there are protests, things can get out of control but no death cases. To be fair, there are no death cases by police in my country. But cops do die. If, let's say, police officer gets shot and dies, they send special forces to kill that person. They will say on television how he was arrested but fact is they killed him. Nobody stays alive after killing police.

Since extra judicial revenge killings are accepted as the norm in Serbia when the police do it I highly doubt other forums of police/government misconduct there as well...

There is no reason to let cop killers live. It is not like he is arrested and then murdered. He is holding the gun and shooting actively. They simply eliminated the target who is harming others. There is no negotiation of surrender after murdering anyone.
Bold claim from somebody who doesn't live here or even know a thing about Serbia other than what media told you. I live and breathe here and I know what is reality and what is not.

There are good cops that can always help you where it is necessary to get issues sorted out, providing security and getting involved in intelligence gathering. We have some bad cops here, and while there is always a complaint, it has not made it impossible for me not to appreciate the good works the good ones are doing.

Understandable...but I thinking it's because there hasn't been anyone you care enough about that been mistreated by police yet...if someone you cared about was a victim of police brutality you probably would feel differently...

There are good and bad ones, but even the good ones exist to enforce the law, not be your friend. It's simply not wise for cops to be too nice, but it can be appropriate on certain occasions

Note: of course some cops are psycho cause bad people infiltrate all career professions.

Most cops are decent people and do a good job. Although just like within any group, there are always a few bad apples.
