With TV shows like 19 kids and counting that highlights the lives of people who have beyond the average number of children, how many children do you think is too many? Where is the cut off point? When does it become rather out of control?

For me, personally, one (natural-born one) was enough. My husband at the time wanted two more...once I did it, I was done.

For others? As many as they can financially, emotionally, and physically support.

And not a single one more.

Three is the maximum amount. More than that is not recommended. But for me, one (or none) is acceptable.

I think One Reality Show is plenty, maybe two, just so there is a choice, but certainly no more than three, across all networks and channels.

Three might be just right, so when one is canceled for various reasons including child abuse and tax evasion by the stars, another one can come in so there's something fresh to make fun of.

As many as you want as long it doesn't start needed tax payer support to take care of them

I think two is plenty personally I stopped at one.

As many as the parents are happy and able to support I think is fine 3 for me though I would liked to have had a daughter but my wife health is not so good so we stopped.

My view is rather idealistic. The consideration should exceed that of the parents and be set in the bigger picture. Not how much the parents can "afford" new children but how much The Earth can "afford" should be the factor used in determining how many children to have or not to have.

I think 2 would be as much as I would want. 3 is probably where I'd stop and I think everyone should stop. :P
But hey...some people like big families.

Well, to finally reply to my own thread, I think one is too many, but that's just my personal preference. Zero children is a nice figure.

It becomes out of control when you cannot afford to provide each and every child with a good way of life, feed them, pay for their needs, keep them happy, etc.

Exactly. I don't recommend having more than 1 child. Think about bills/debts and the corrupt government if applicable, especially over here.

If you have to rely on government funding to support your own self, don't make the government pay for your child too.. That should be the moral of the story for everyone.

Depends on the person. I see plenty of unfit parents around here. Zero would have been a good number for them to follow.

Sometimes I wonder if people keep spitting out babies so they can get a bigger welfare check and allotment of food stamps. The more you have the more you get.
