Do you include in your diet regularly legumes? and what kind you prefer more to eat if you do?

Not at all if it can be helped. I dislike them. In fact, I got some minestrone soup today that was seemingly overflowing with them. Had no choice to have them when I was growing up but it's not something I prefer now.

i know a lot of people don't like them .
For me because no one else eat at home legumes, i don't have them often enough as i will like, but when i was young we had them a lot more than we wanted  but it was because we could not afford lot of other food legumes used to be always 3 times a week.

Lentils are especially nutritious, cook so quickly & I love them. (y) If no one in the family likes them, then cook a little pot with sautéed small-chopped onion & celery & just a little salt & pepper for yourself. :p

I cook legumes and freeze extras for later, but sometimes I prefer not to prepare additional meals, as I'm already cooking more than three times a day.
I still eat legumes once a week, and during the summer, I avoid soup and make more salads, but i will like to have more often.

What is your definition of legume? Where I live in Canada I don't recall anyone ever using that word.

In regular conversations, we usually say things like lentils or beans when talking about food. When we want to talk about the whole group of plants that includes these foods, we use the word legumes and i think that is everywhere

What kinds of people do you talk about legumes with? This baffles me.

Not sure what you want to know about this. I think I am confused by your question, or is that what you were planning? :p

No. Who do you have conversations with where you would feel the need to use the term legume?

in a more casual setting where you often talk with someone, they might ask about your plans for cooking. Responding with I'm thinking of cooking with legumes today, but I haven't decided what yet
What more is there to explain:confused2:

Nothing. Just never heard it in conversation. The only place I've ever seen it written is on on our canned soup cans as French because far too many of our French are whiny.

ok that is weird you never hear it :)
It is weird because they grow fields & fields & acres & acres & miles of legumes in Canada; and probably not in Montreal. :p ¿Eh? :p

Yes, it is used here but maybe not in casual conversation. I certainly use it semi-regularly. We usually refer to the specific legumes we are eating/cooking, not the term "legume" though. Legumes are peas, beans, lentils, and peanuts. So if you eat those, you are eating legumes.

And to answer the thread question, we eat them fairly often. Beans of various sorts, occasionally peas (usually snow or sugarsnap peas that are cooked in the shell), chickpeas (aka garbanzo beans) in a salad we have weekly for lunch. If you count products derived from legumes, then there's all the various soy products we eat like tofu in diverse forms and soy sauce.

I eat legumes, fruits and veggies daily. I try to have a healthy diet so that means lots of legumes, fruits and veggies. I love it. So much flavour
