I have longer hair, I like to get it cut every 3-4 months. I feel like otherwise the split ends take over and it gets unmanageable. I usually get a modest trim, no more than 1-2" off.How often do you get a hair cut?
Two weeks ago. When was the last time you got one?
Agree completely, I'm growing mine but still go for regular trims every 3 months or so.I have longer hair, I like to get it cut every 3-4 months. I feel like otherwise the split ends take over and it gets unmanageable. I usually get a modest trim, no more than 1-2" off.
No - it gives that illusion because the new hair is healthier.I was always told that if you cut it then it grows faster and I've never really thought about it, but that doesn't actually make any sense because it's the roots that grow and you cut the opposite end, so is there any truth in this?

That's a myth. Cutting the ends of your hair doesn't affect the follicles in your scalp, which determine how fast and how much your hair grows.I was always told that if you cut it then it grows faster and I've never really thought about it, but that doesn't actually make any sense because it's the roots that grow and you cut the opposite end, so is there any truth in this?
Yep, that's what I thought. It's a pretty persistent myth though. That's a myth. Cutting the ends of your hair doesn't affect the follicles in your scalp, which determine how fast and how much your hair grows.
You're a lot more organised than I am. I tend to get mine every month but it's always either a few days before or after a month. That might be because I do try to time my haircut for certain events though. So if I know a special event is coming up, I'll try to delay it a bit.On clockwork, I would get mine at the first of every month, but of late it's been every few months.![]()
