Hulu has ordered a revival consisting of 20 episodes, set to go into production in February and premiere in 2023. The animated series ran for four seasons on Fox before its cancellation in 2003. Then four movies were released on DVD in 2007. After Comedy Central aired those as 30-minute episodes, it picked up the show for more seasons, until 2013.

Still haven’t finished the show so I can’t really comment on whether it’s appropriate or not. But it does seem like they’re struggling to get the original VA for Bender

He's the voice that ties the series together, they need to get him or end it.

100%. Although I can’t see then cancelling it just because they can’t get him. The monetary side of it will cloud their judgement :(

I'll probably check it out if I ever manage to catch up and finish it off. He better sound the same otherwise there will be a lot more angry fans out there.

No one is going to match the previous one exactly, it's like asking to get a perfect copy of Mark Hamill's joker voice.

If there's no John DiMaggio, the series will fail. Bender makes the series what it is, and John DiMaggio IS Bender.

I love Futurama, it's one of my all time favourite shows, but this is a mistake.

I genuinely don't think people will care about the voice actor if the writing is good, humans are a fickle bunch really. Big companies will be able to find somebody who can voice Bender close to the original voice actor.
